The main differences between the Schwinn 230 and 270 are: The 270 model from a structural standpoint has a heavier flywheel, 9 more magnetic resistance levels, and oversized pedals. The Schwinn 270 has a superior 3 piece crank system (versus 1 piece on the 230). On the computer console, the 270 has more workout programs (29 Vs. 13), adds back-lighting to the LCD, and adds two more user profiles. The 270 also has speakers & a 3-speed fan. The Schwinn 270 bike has 9 more resistance levels than the 230 model. You can customize your user profile, the 230 allows 2 profiles, while the 270 allows 4 profiles. Bluetooth with APP for your tablet or smartphone, and Wireless heart telemetry are both standard on both bikes. The 270 has a dual display, so when using the tablet holder, you can still read the lower display.
Bottom Line Schwinn 230 Vs. 270: The Schwinn 270 recumbent exercise bike offers a wide array of improvements over the 230 model, including more resistance levels, programs, and user profiles, thicker padded seat, and a backlit screen. Ergonomically, the 270 model has a superior 3 piece crank system, giving better clearance when riding. The 270 model also has a superior seat with additional padding. We feel that the Schwinn 270 is far superior in features as well as some structural additions, and offers the best value for the money. Both models are highly rated and economically priced.
