Both models are excellent for carpet and have motorized brushrolls. The Parquet Twister Tool which is a soft bristled hard floor tool is also included on both vacuums. The Marin and Kona have premium footswitch pedals to adjust suction and turn the vacuum ON and OFF. These C3 series vacuums offer 6 levels of suction control.

What makes Miele Unique- Main Differences: Miele vacuums have many high end features that many other vacuums don’t have, including Dyson. Multiple Suction Power Settings: This allows you to vacuum delicate areas with reduced suction. Quieter Vacuums: Miele vacuums are relatively quiet compared to other vacuums, and can be quieter when you turn down the power. Miele uses stainless steel instead of cheaper materials like plastic or aluminum for its wands.
Miele uses rubber wheels for its canister vacuums, which will not mar or scratch hardwood floors. Many of the canisters come with a Parquet hardwood floor brush. Miele uses a sealed system and hygienically sealed multi-layer bags, so no dust goes in the air when vacuuming or when emptying the bag into the trash. Great for those with allergies. Miele tests its vacuums to last 20 years. Miele will far outlast cheaper vacuums.

Bottom Line: Miele C3 Marin Vs. Miele Kona – Both the Miele Marin and Kona are highly capable canister vacuums, manufactured with the highest quality components, which is why these models are pricey. The main difference is the floor tool, the additional intelligent “Auto” mode in the Marin, as well as the colors they come in. The floor tool of the Marin has LED headlights built in, while the Kona does not. Both motorized floor tools are excellent on carpet, and both come with the soft bristled Parquet Twister hard floor tool. If you need headlights in your powerhead, or want the “Auto” mode then go with the Marin. The Kona is cheaper in price if you don’t need these features.
